This Mansoon and That Winter in Lonavla

I always wanted to visit  lonavala   during mansoon and  here  it  comes this july last
year we visit  lonavala  with a  group of family   friends  and  children   in winters
so,  we  booked a  bunglow  after arriving since it was weekend we had  payed more
that time. This time  as we are  only   three i.e   my  spouse  and  small   daughter so
we decide to book Railway Retiring Room.

Lonavala Railway Station

We reached lonavala at evening there is heavy rain hence we decide to skip our plan to
visit narayani dham temple which is few km away from station . so, we relax and  take
dinner in the evening.

Note- Auto Rickshaw cost you Rs 80 from Railway Station to Narayani dham Temple.

Auto  Rickshaw charges in  Lonavala,  Khandala  and  how we  manage our  trip.
On the next day we book auto rickshaw for day Sightseeing covering Lonavala  Lake,
Bushi Dam, Lions point in Lonavala and Rajmachi park and Sunset point in Khandala
It costs us Rs 800 since it was monday. As far as information received from Rickshaw
owner on saturday and sunday i.e on weekend charges for sightseeing was Rs1500 i.e
double what we had paid and only few are ready for sightseeing since they are getting
more money for short trips.

There is Auto Rickshaw Union in lonavala hence you cant bargain all      the rates are
fixed as far as my information and experienced.

LONAVALA LAKE is very beautiful and pictureque and perfect place to take photos
you can see several waterfalls from the bridge on lonavala lake. The lake was full of
water since  it is  july.

BUSHI DAM is the spot for what lonavala is famous during mansoon it the spot where
we spend maximum time . There is heavy rush dam was full and overflowing where all
the tourists where enjoying and the climate is dramatically changing from low visibility
to zero visibility. We really enjoyed  hide and seek with the clouds. The views are breath
taking and cant be expressed in writing or in photographs.

Bushi Dam

Our next spot is LIONS POINT we are  able to see the road only due to  fog. If
the weather is clear then you can get a great view of valley from the lions point
There are several stalls where you can buy snacks CORN PAKODA is the best
the other options are onion bhajiya and maggi. ROSTED MAZE is available
everywhere.

Lions Point

RAJMACHI  PARK  is the small garden for childrens in khandala on old mumbai
pune road. The park is not maintained by the local bodies but you can still  get the
great view of Mumbai pune express way from the park. Also you can   see KUNE
WATER FALL.

SUNSET POINT is just besides the   RAJMACHI PARK    and is the last stop at
khandala for the tourists comming for day trip and return to mumbai. You can get
good look of sunset from the point on the mumbai pune highway . read more.........
